Memorial Park Cemetery


Oral H. Adams, 69, 564 N. 11th, died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital due to a fall down an elevator shaft at the Youngblood Hotel.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 PM in the Fossett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim H. Logsdon officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Adams was born on March 18, 1905, in Allen. He later moved to McAlester and lived there until 1942 when he moved to Clinton, then to Enid in 1958 where he has made his home since. He was married to Clara M. Hoffar at Weathers in 1926. When he first came to Enid he worked for the Youngblood Hotel, and later worked for Serve Air at Vance Air Force Base until 1965 and then went back to work at the hotel as a maintenance engineer. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Three sons preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Clara, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Don (Virginia) McKnight, Owasso, Mrs. Ray (Juanita) Myers, Elk city, and Mrs. Jack (Frankie) Cook, Enid; four brothers, Arthur, Enid; Homer, Clinton; John, Fresno, California, and Sam, Hartshorne; 14 grandchildren, and seven great - grandchildren.
