Funeral services for Frank L. Richter, 93, will be conducted at 10 AM Wednesday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. George C. Prentice will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in the Kremlin Cemetery at Kremlin. Richter died in a local nursing home Monday morning after a short illness.

A native of Germany, he came to Chicago, Illinois, in 1893 and lived there for a short time before moving to Caddo County, Oklahoma. He moved to Enid in 1913 and worked as a stationary team engineer at the Enid Filling Company until moving to Oregon in 1933 where he farmed until moving back to Enid in 1940. He was employed by the Enid Water Department until his retirement in 1949.

He married the former Sarah Pennock at Medford, on February 2, 1920. The couple celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary last February. He was a member of the Gideon Bible class of the Maine Church of the Nazarene.

He was preceded in death by three sons, two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah of the home at 1730 E. Oak; two sons, Ralph L. Richter and Russell H. Richter, both of Enid; four grandchildren and six great – grandchildren.

Mrs. Frank (Sarah) Richter, 85, 1730 E. Oak, died Friday morning in a local hospital following a brief illness.

Her funeral service will be Sunday at 2:30 PM in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George C. Prentice in charge. Burial will be in the Kremlin Cemetery beside her husband, who died in 1970.

Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to the Maine Church of the Nazarene. The church and Henninger – Allen will serve as custodian of the funds.

Mrs. Richter was a native of Kansas and moved with her parents to Kremlin at the opening of the Cherokee Strip, later moving to Enid.

She and Frank Richter were married February 2, 1920. Mrs. Richter attended the Maine Church of the Nazarene where she was a member of the Gideon Sunday School Class.

She is survived by two sons, Ralph and Russell Richter, both of Enid; four grandchildren; seven great – grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Minnie Steel and William Richey of Kremlin and Mrs. Rosie Wills, Enid.

A son, Raymond, was killed in World War I I in May, 1944.
