Hillsdale Cemetery



ENID — Funeral service for Bobby Dan Wiist, 70, of Hillsdale , Okla., will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Mike Nuthman officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsdale Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Hillsdale Cemetery Association with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.

He was born Nov. 22, 1939, in Clay County, Texas, to Oscar and Emma B. Hussey Wiist and passed away early Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center after a short illness.

He grew up on a farm and farmed most of his life. After retiring from farming he was a custodian at Hillside Christian Church in Amarillo, Texas, until retiring in 2009 and moved to Hillsdale , Okla.

He married Linda Webster Thorpe Sept. 8, 1973, in Amarillo, TX.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; daughter, Beth Penland and husband Kelly of Beaver, Okla.; sons, David Thorpe and wife Gayla of Cedar Park, Texas, Glen Thorpe and wife Cari of Hillsdale , Okla., Richard Brian Thorpe and wife Gina of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Billy and Loyce Wiist of Lakewood, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
