Hillsdale Cemetery


Funeral service for Norma Jean Hoffsommer, 81, of Hillsdale, Okla., will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Hillsdale Bible Church with Dr. Robert Courtney officiating. Interment will follow in Hillsdale Cemetery. Service is under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Jean was born Nov. 28, 1930, in Nash, Okla., the daughter of Ted and Zelma Stovall Wayman and died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, in Enid, Okla. She was a graduate of Hillsdale High School in 1948.

She was united in marriage to James Hoffsommer Aug. 18, 1948, in Hillsdale. Mrs. Hoffsommer was a homemaker and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. Jean was an active member of Hillsdale Bible Church. Her life was one of service to her Savior, Jesus Christ, her family and her community.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James; a daughter, Trudy Hoffsommer of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three sons, Monty and wife Anita of Liberty, Mo., and their children, Kristen and Jeremy Maness (Addison, Kate and Saylor), Amy and Toph Majors, Andrew Hoffsommer; Steve and Brenda Hoffsommer of Hillsdale, Okla., and their children, Jenifer and Royce Lloyd (Mia and Sadie), Jill and Kelly McCoy (Jack and Hallie); Jeff and Sue Hoffsommer of Hillsdale, Okla., and their children, Melissa and Evan Land (Benaiah and Tenley), Zach and Kayla Hoffsommer, Mandy Hoffsommer, Maddie and Kasey McCoy (Channing), Sid Hoffsommer, Nick Hoffsommer and MacKenzie Hoffsommer. She is also survived by her brother, Kent and Patti Wayman of Nash, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Patsy Wayman of Nash; three nieces, (Rhonda, Misty and Maci); and one nephew, Steve. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Susan; and two brothers Howard Lee and Dennis
