Theron "Dee" KITCHEN

Funeral service for Theron “Dee” Kitchen, 80, of Enid, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Rajesh Mankena officiating. Burial will follow in Hackberry Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Dee was born July 5, 1932, on the Kitchen Farm, southeast of Thomas, Okla., to Theron Ray and Delora Oneta (Ewing) Kitchen and passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, in Oklahoma City.

Dee grew up in Hydro and Pryor and graduated from Pryor High School. He served in the United States Army. After his discharge he moved to Enid, where he owned and operator of a trucking company. He also worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in the maintenance department for 18 years. On Feb. 4, 1977, he married Genevia May in Enid. After Dee retired he enjoyed raising cattle and sheep.

Dee is survived by his wife, Genevia of the home; his children, Theron Dee Kitchen Jr. (Theresa) of Washington, Okla., James Lee Kitchen (Hazel) of Kingfisher, Arlene Unruh (Ray) of Enid, Dade Maloney (Jun) of Enid, Rex Allen Maloney (Anna) of Ponca City, and Tammie Joan Page (Bobby) of Purcell; 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Don Kitchen (Pat) of Vinta, and Frank Kitchen (Jan) of Skiatook; and one sister, Pauline Hutchins of Enid. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Lynn; and brother, Wayne.
