The many friends and relatives here of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Leabo of Oklahoma City were grieved Sunday morning to receive the message of the death of their only child, Vivian Faye, which occurred in a hospital at Oklahoma City Saturday evening.
Vivian Faye Leabo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Leabo, was born July 28, 1926, near Douglas, and passed to the great beyond September 1, 1934, at 7:30 p.m. Age 8 years, 1 month and 3 days.
Vivian was a charming and attractive child with a most lovable character. She was a member of the Junior Sunday school class at the Capitol Hill Christian church of Oklahoma City. She was loved by her teachers, playmates and many friends and will be missed by them all.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Leabo, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.N. Leabo and Mr. and Mrs. M. Dishman, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The remains were brought to Douglas Christian Union church Monday afternoon, accompanied by the sorrowing parents, a number of relatives and Vivian's teachers, who acted as pall bearers. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hallinger, pastor of the church which she attended in Oklahoma City, assisted by the Rev. J.B. Rogers. The honorary pall bearers were former classmates of Mr. Leabo, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Baker, Mrs. Chester Hubbard, and Mr. Merle Kirk.
The mound of flowers which had been carried by four little girls, Dorothy Mae Downing, Dorothy Lee Baker, Marjorie Adams, and Nadine Dievert, surrounded the resting place of Vivian, in the I.O.O.F. cemetery near Marshall and was a silent tribute of the love that so many cherished for her.
