D.M. KELLEY DIES SUDDENLY

Donald M. Kelley, aged about 25 years, died very suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Drummond last Friday morning about 9 o'clock. He had been complaining of illness for several weeks and had suffered an attack of influenza during that time. The last week of his life he was apparently much improved and was busy about his drug store and with other activities. The day preceding his death, he helped Henry Ott cut weeds for about an hour and was feeling cheerful. That evening he was busy about the store.

During the night, he awoke Mrs. Kelley complaining that he was cold and arose and secured more covers. After going back to bed, he seemed to rest well but when Mrs. Kelley arose at a few minutes before 6 o'clock, she found him unconscious and in spite of every effort to rouse him, he remained in that condition until death claimed him at about 9 o'clock. Death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage.

Mr. Kelley was born in Iowa, August 30, 1899. When four years old, he and his parents came to Marshall, where he grew up, graduating from the Marshall High School. He was a member of the Marshall football team which all but won the state championship in 1917.

After leaving Marshall he was employed in the Sanford drug store at Covington for some time.

He came to Drummond in October, 1921, and purchased the Drummond Pharmacy, which he was operating at the time of his death.

December 21, 1921, he was married to Miss Clarice Baugh, his school girl sweetheart.

Short funeral services were held at the residence here Friday evening following which the body was taken to the family home at Marshall where another service was held at 2 o'clock. Rev. Bonkemeyer of the Drummond Congregational church officiated at both services. Interment was made in the Marshall cemetery.

The wife, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Kelley, one sister, Mrs. Parlour of Hennessey, besides other relatives and numerous friends are left to mourn his untimely death.
