Earnest Is Very Ill
Master Earnest Hardesty is very ill of typhoid fever and his recovery is exceedingly doubtful. However, the boy is making a gallant fight and while the chances are all against him there is still hope.

Yields To Grim Reaper
Master Earnest Hardesty, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. P.S. Hardesty, passed to the great beyond at 11:00 Tuesday (May 20, 1913).
He had fought a good battle against typhoid fever for almost three weeks, but being a frail lad he was unable to throw off the malady which claimed his
life.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church at 1`0 o'clock, Thurday, conducted by Mr. Mose Williams, the remains afterward being laid to rest in the cemetery north of town. Six boy scouts acted as bearers of the dead.
Ernest was a good boy, 13 years of age, and before he died, being duly appreciative, her requested the Tribune to thank all the kind people who brought him so many beautiful flowers. He said if he ever got well he would never use liquor, tobacco or swear.
Thus in death he left a benediction to all the other little Marshall boys.
A large concourse of people attended the funeral and extended words of sympathy to the bereaved family
