Clyde Orville Allen

March 20, 1933 - January 2, 2011

Clyde Orville Allen was born March 20, 1933 in Orlando, Oklahoma to Lloyd N. and Ellen (Tarrant) Allen. He passed away January 2, 2011 in Enid, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years.

Clyde moved at an early age to Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School in 1951. On June 4, 1952 he married Carolyn Pollard in Marshall, Oklahoma. Clyde was a long time farmer and rancher. He was on the Marshall COOP Board, served on the Rural Water Board, and was a Charter member of the FFA. He also enjoyed music and as a young boy he and his brothers often played on the local radio station. Clyde was a member of the First Christian Church in Marshall and later transferred his membership to Union Chapel Church. He was the best husband and father in the world.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn of the home; one son, Kim Allen of Enid; one daughter, Vicky Allen of Kingfisher; one brother, Vernon Dale Allen of Guthrie; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Lloyd Gene Allen, and by his father and mother-in-laws, Jack and Velma Pollard.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Marshall First Christian Church with Pastor Alan Sample officiating. Burial will follow in the North Marshall Lions Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent.
