The funeral for Ethel Acton, 87, of Minneola, Kan., will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Minnis Mortuary Chapel, Minneola. Mike Williams, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be 4 p.m. in Marshall Lions Cemetery North, near Marshall. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.

She was born Oct. 15, 1920, in Marshall to Henry and Tillie Edzenga Van Hauen and died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, in Minneola.

She was a longtime Ness City, Kan., resident, and she lived in Minneola since 2006. She married Ellsworth C. Acton Nov. 23, 1940. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ness City.

Surviving are two sons, Curtis of Minneola and Jerry of Monument, Kan.; one daughter, Shirley Mai of Cimarron, Kan; one sister, Betty Kaps of Medford; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth; one son; three brothers; and four sisters.
