The funeral for Alva Marie Gerken, 80, who died Tuesday at Independence, MO, will be at 10 a.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Covington. The Rev. Calvin Kennedy will officiate. Arrangments are by Anderson Funeral Home, Garber.

Mrs Gerkin was born in Fisher, IL and had lived in Billings for 20 years. She and Herman Gerken were married 40 years ago in Drexel, MO. He died in April 1984. After his death she moved to Independence, MO to be near her family.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Horner, and Jess Horner both of Independence, Mo; Howard Horner of Poway, CA; and Don Wilson of Berkeley, CA; two daughters, Mary Gayhard of Independence; Kathie Lawson of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Willard Liestman, CA; four sisters, Dorothy Chesser; Nell Huton; Loraine Wilkins; Doris Callison; 15 grandchildren; and 12 gr grandchildren.
