Died
After an illness of 7 months, Mr. S. Stoner died at a hospital in Enid at 10:45 a.m., March 13, 1913. Two sons were at his side, Mrs. Stoner had returned Monday. The funeral will be held at the Christian church of which he is a member at 2 p.m. Friday. Mr. Stoner leaves a large family of grown children and many friends to mourn his loss. He was a grand old man and was loved as only few men are. He loved mankind and his life work and labor was to leave the world a happier and more cheerful place of abode. His example of faith and trust is a lesson for all.

Obituary.
Mr. S. Stoner was born August 20th, 1843, in Andrew county, Missouri. Died March 13th, 1913, in a hospital in Enid where he had been taken about a week before from his home near Garber.
He served four years in the Federal Army during the Civil War after which he served two years on the frontier in the Indian wars.
He was married to Miss Anna Adkinson in 1866. To this union was born three sons and one daughter. One son died in infancy shortly after the death of the mother. In 1876 he married Miss Olive Martin and to this union was born five sons and three daughters, all of whom with the wife survive him.
He moved from Missouri to Kansas in 1833 where he lived until the opening in 1893 of the Cherokee Strip to settlement where he homesteaded a farm on which he lived until the time of his death.
The funeral was held Friday, March 14th, at the Christian church in which denomination he held membership since 1866. Rev. Wood officiated. The interment was made in the Garber cemetery.
