Edgar W. Pralle, 86, died January 7, 2012 in Plano, Texas after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Dorothy Pralle of the home, son Steven Pralle (Tampa, Florida), daughter Susan Watson and grandchildren Landon Watson, Elizabeth Watson, and Allison Watson (all of Plano, Texas).

Mr. Pralle was born in 1925 in Breckenridge, Oklahoma, graduated from Garber High School and the University of Oklahoma. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

As a third-generation Oklahoma banker, he joined the family owned Bank of Garber where he succeeded his father as President, retiring after 50 years of service.

Mr. Pralle served his community as a City Councilman, Scoutmaster, a member of Rotary International and an honorary member of the Future Farmers of America. He served the congregation of Immanuel Lutheran Church faithfully as Elder and Treasurer throughout his life. He was active with his children in high school band, scouting and many other school and community service organizations.

He retired to Plano, Texas in 2002 where he enriched the lives of his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Louise Pralle and step-mother Edith Pralle, sister Adelle Clouse and brother Waldemar Pralle.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Ladusau-Evans funeral home, 2800 N. Van Buren, Enid, Oklahoma. The funeral will be held at 11.00 am on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Garber, Oklahoma, with interment to follow at the Garber Cemetery.

ENID, Okla. — Funeral service for Dorothy I. Pralle, 85, a resident of Presbyterian Village North in Dallas, Texas, and formerly of Garber, Okla., will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Garber, with Pastor Scott Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Garber Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pralle was born May 8, 1928, in Kiefer, Okla., to Joseph Fred and Anna Evans Keyes Dose and died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in Dallas, Texas.

She was raised in Drumright, Okla.

She received her undergraduate degree in music education from Oklahoma State University and her master’s degree in education from Phillips University.

She moved to Garber, Okla., upon her marriage.

A strong believer in the arts and learning, she dedicated her life to teaching, beginning her career as a band director and music educator. After her children entered school she returned to the classroom, teaching elementary grades and gifted children until her retirement.

After retirement, Mrs. Pralle moved to Plano, Texas, to be near her grandchildren. Granny, as she was affectionately called, played a very important role in their lives.

She provided after school care on a daily basis, helped with homework and prepared their favorite meals.

Her grandchildren loved spending time with her, learning to cook and playing games. They will forever treasure the impact she had on their lives.

Mrs. Pralle volunteered her time and skills as a church organist and choir director.

She was an active member in several organizations, including the Athenian Club, the General Society of Mayflower Descendants and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Watson (Michael McGrath) of Plano, Texas; a son, Steven Pralle (Jeffrey Surrena) of Tampa, Fla.; and grandchildren, Allison Watson, Elizabeth Watson and Landon Watson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edgar W. Pralle, her parents, and her brother, Ralph Kenneth Dose.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
