The funeral service for Fred LeRoy Postier, 75, Sherman, Texas, is 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Meyer officiating. Burial follows in the Garber Cemetery, Garber. The service is under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Fred was born Nov. 11, 1941, in Vinita, to Clarence and Sena Johnson Postier, and passed away May 2, 2017, in Denison, Texas, with his family by his side. He graduated from Garber High School in 1960. He continued his education and received his Bachelor of Education Degree at Northwestern State College, Alva, in 1970. He married Faith Ann Woodruff Sept. 6, 1964, in Garber. Fred later received his Master of Education in 1970, and his counseling degree in 1972, both from Southern Oklahoma State University in Durant. He was a high school teacher and coach at Laverne and Braman, and at Denison, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his son, Steve LeRoy Postier; his parents; brothers, C. J. and Cecil Postier; and nephew, Michael Postier.

Fred is survived by his wife, Faith Ann of the home; three brothers, Ervin and wife, Patsy of Tulsa, Ray Dean of Breckenridge, and John and wife, Margie of Enid; two sisters and their husbands, Ruth and Bill Jackson of Pond Creek and Clara Marie and Ray Hasselwander of Enid; 23 nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Postier Endowment at Immanuel Lutheran, Garber, or to the Garber Alumni Scholarship Fund.
