Michael Joe Morris, son of Jo and John Morris, was born Dec. 5, 1959, in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Garber Public Schools and graduated in 1978. He attended Oklahoma State University and completed his engineering, physics and mathematics degrees at Northeastern Oklahoma State University in 1986. He was married to Elizabeth (Betsy Blizzard) Erwin on Nov. 3,1984. They were blessed with two children, John Lee Morris and Ann Marie Morris.

Mike and Betsy were married during college and upon graduating they moved to Ridgecrest, Calif., where Mike was an engineer at Naval Air Weapons Center Weapons Division - China Lake (NAWCWD). He supported the HARM Missile Program for 12 years. In 1999, Mike moved back to Garber, where he started his own heating and air business, Mike Morris Mechanical.

Mike passed away on March 18, 2017, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He is proceeded in death by his father, John "Big John" Morris.

He is survived by his mother, Jo Morris of Garber; his children, John Lee Morris and wife Rani Leigh Morris of Tulsa, and Ann Marie Morris of Camarillo, Calif.; his siblings, Mitchell Lee Morris of Atlanta, Ga., and Melinda (Mindy) Anne Morris of Enid; his nephew, Logan Hager Latta and niece Lara McKae Latta of Garber, and many relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please send cards and condolences to 19306 E Rupe, Garber, OK 73738.

The service is 1 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the Garber Cemetery. Casual dress, please.
