DEATH OF MRS. M.J. MARLEY

Mrs. M.J. Marley was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.S. Whitney and was born April 26, 1873, in Henry County, Illinois near Woodhall. The family moved to Clarinda, Iowa, in her infancy at which place she spent most of her early life. She was converted to religion and joined the Methodist church at the age of 14 years, of which she has been a devout member to the day of her death.

The deceased was married to M.J. Marley, Sept. 15, 1891, near Clarinda, and two sons, Loyd and Wilby were born to bless this union.

The family including one son, Loyd, arrived at Garber from Pawnee City, Nebr., about Dec. 1, 1912, purchased for a home what is known as the Chenoweth farm southeast of Garber.

Mrs. Marley has been an invalid and a sufferer for 10 or 12 years and finally succumbed to the ravages of the "Great White Plague." She was a fond wife and mother of lovable disposition and beloved by all who knew her.

She leaves to mourn their loss, a husband, two sons named above, and five brothers. Two of the brothers, J.R. and F.T. reside in this neighborhood and three are living in the north.

Services were held at the Methodist church at Garber, April 10, conducted by Rev. Kleinsteiber. Interment was made in the Garber cemetery.
