Elmer R. Kroll, 92, of Garber, Okla., was the son of Ernest and Minna (Goedeke) Kroll. He was born Nov. 21, 1922, at home, east of Garber, and died Sunday, March 1, 2015, at The Commons in Enid, Okla.

He was baptized and a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he held many offices.

He attended Elkhorn country school and graduated from Garber High School in 1941. He was active with FFA, showing dairy cattle, and continued his support of the FFA throughout his life.

Elmer served his country during WWII, in the Army, in an armored tank battery. He was wounded when he stepped on a land mine and was honorably discharged.

Elmer married Christine Head on March 9, 1947. To this union two children, Kathy and Rudy, were born.

He farmed in the Garber area his entire life. He also owned and ran a dozer, and did dirt work in the oil field for many area farmers and himself.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Garber, with Pastor Scott Ray officiating. Burial to follow at Garber Cemetery. The care of the family is under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home, Perry.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Christine; son, Rudy; granddaughter, Nancy; and brother, Clarence.

He is survived by daughter, Kathy Miller and husband Bob, and daughter-in-law Rita Kroll, all of Garber; grandchildren, Jodi Sadler and husband Phil, Steven Kroll and wife Toni,

Christopher Kroll, Kyle Miller and wife Trinity, Amy Bruno and husband Tim, and Todd Miller; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
