Garber Cemetery


David William Johnson, 53, of Garber, Okla., was the son of Harold James and Catherine Irene (Rhoades) Johnson. He was born Oct. 25, 1958, in Enid, Okla., and died Thursday, March 1, 2012, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Enid, Okla. He married his best friend, Linda Darlene Fincher, on Aug. 8, 1992, at First United Methodist Church in Garber.

David enjoyed tinkering on cars and special projects plus cutting firewood. He would love for people to bring him something that was not working so that he could tinker with it and get it working. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. David enjoyed tinkering on cars and special projects plus cutting firewood. David was known for giving his friends and family a hard time and making them smile. He was a member of Enid Masonic Lodge 80 and also First United Methodist Church, Garber. David will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all that knew him.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, Garber, Okla. Paul Babiak will officiate, with the Rev. Linda Pope assisting. Interment will be in Garber Cemetery. Service is under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home, Garber.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Dugger Funeral Home, Garber, Okla.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association in care of Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Garber, OK 73738.

David is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; son, Joshua Johnson of Fairmont, Okla.; daughter, Jenifer Woods and husband George of El Reno, Okla.; brothers, Richard Johnson and wife Denise of Desoto, Texas, and Stephen Johnson and wife Sheryl of Cypress, Texas; granddaughter, Ashley Marie Woods of El Reno, Okla.; one special nephew, Chad Johnson of Garber, Okla., plus numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Catherine Johnson.
