January 19, 1931 - September 29, 2020

Martha "Kathleen" Henderson was born on Jan. 19, 1931, to Ed and Olive (Fannon) Walker on a farm northwest of Breckenridge, Okla. She attended school at Red Rock until moving with her family to a farm northwest of Garber in 1939. She attended grade school at Home Valley, and graduated from Garber schools in 1948. Kathleen married William "Bill" Henderson on May 5, 1951. During her husband's military career in the U.S. Air Force, she and their children accompanied him from Enid to England, Texas, Germany, Arizona, then returned to Garber in 1964. She worked at Southwestern Bell in Enid, Bryan Air Force Base in Texas and Mountain Valley in Tucson, Ariz., as a telephone operator. After returning to Garber, Kathleen was employed as a bookkeeper at Garber Co-op for many years. She was later employed at Union Equity in Enid, retiring in 1990.

Kathleen was known as "Grandma" and "Granny" by her grandchildren, and they gave her so much joy and love. She was a hardworking mom, always putting her family first. Kathleen enjoyed sewing, dancing with her friend "Wib," traveling, and the Christmas season.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; son, William, parents, Ed and Olive Walker; and sisters, Roberta Strecker and Edna Paddock.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws Debbie and Dwight Chustz of Spring Hill, Tenn., and Beverly and Dennis Peterson of Yukon, Okla.; daughter-in-law Carol Henderson of Fayetteville, Ark.; her six grandchildren, Justin, Adriane, Savannah, Mckenzie, Reece and Brock; and seven great-grandchildren, Nate, Billy, Braxton, Colin, Nikolai, Molly and Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice Circle of Love - Enid and/or St. Jude's Children's Research. Graveside services will be Saturday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. at Garber Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary in Yukon, Okla.
