Garber Cemetery


Died
Mr. Thomas Green, a pioneer settler of this Section died at 5 o'clock Thursday morning, February 13th, at his home two miles northeast of Garber after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Green suffered heart trouble and had been pronounced beyond hope of recovery some weeks ago by physicians. He lived on the same farm since the opening of this country in 1893. The funeral will be held at the home at 2 o'clock Friday.

OBITUARY OF THOMAS M. GREEN
Thomas M. Green was born at Carlisle, Cumberland Co., Penn., Oct. 6, 1842 and died Feb. 13, 1913, at his home near Garber, Okla., aged 70 years, 4 months and 6 days. On the 7th of July, 1862, he was married to Catherine M. Steward at Lancaster, Penn. To this union were born five children, Calvin and Curtis C. Green, and Mrs. O.F. Morgan of Garber, Edith, who died in infancy and Mrs. M.J. Roberts of Lincoln, Nebr.
He moved from Pennsylvania to Crawfordsville, Ind., in 1880 where he lived six years. From Indiana he moved to Ford county, Kan. In the spring of 1894, he moved to the farm on which he died.
He united with the M.E. Church while quite young and was a consistent member throughout his life. His last request was "I want the text taken from the 23rd Psalm."
The obsequies were held Friday, Feb. 14, conducted by Rev. G.A. Kleinstieber of the M.E. church, and attended by a large number of friends. The interment was made in the Garber cemetery.
