ENID, Okla. - Funeral service for Maxine Young, 91, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Interment will follow in Enid Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Maxine was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Kingfisher, Okla., to Robert L. and Agnes L. (Jewett) Roten. The family moved to Enid shortly thereafter, where she attended Enid schools and graduated from Enid High School in 1939. Maxine was a longtime member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

She was married to Elmer A Young in 1948. She owned and operated her beauty shop in her home for 32 years, retiring in 1987.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer, who resides at the Sterling House; two sons, Gary Young and wife Sherry, and Jerry "Duke" Young, both of Enid; seven grandchildren, Kurtis Young and wife Cindy, Rodney and Susan Young, Tracy and Paul Henderson, Jamie Moore, Kim Young-Stone, Hillary Young and Luke and Jackie Young; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Joann Roten and Faye Ramirez; and her husband Albert "Lefty" Ramirez; Robert Roten and his wife Floreine Roten; and one son, Albert "Al" Young.

Memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
