Services for Orville Stebbins, age 88 will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2005 in the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Gary Siebert officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery under the direction of the Lad-usau-Evans Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Orville was born May 20, 1917 at the home farm N.E. of Fairmont, OK to Robert R. and Etta Charlton Stebbins and passed away August 20, 2005 in St. Mary's Mercy Health Center. He was raised in the Fairmont community. He graduated from Garber High School.

He married Irene Kimmell on July 21, 1940 and she preceded him in death July 28, 1988. He farmed east of Enid. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. for 75 years where he was very active and held many offices. He was very active in the Garfield County Fair where he was Swine Superintendent for over 40 years.

Bro. Orville Stebbins joined the Order of the Oddfellows at the Garber Lodge #97 on December 7, 1937. He later transferred his membership to the Enid Lodge #31 on November 2, 1985.

He joined the Encampment #13 on February 1, 1974. In the Encampment he was a Past Grand Patriarch in 1982-1983. He was elected in 1987, and served 17 years, as the Grand Treasure of the Grand Encampment of Oklahoma and was awarded the Grand Treasure E-maitres in April 2005 at the Grand Encampment Session.

In 2002 he was awarded the Meritorious Service Jewel, had received his 60 year veteran service jewel several years ago. Was Past District Deputy Pres. for the Grand Lodge and a past District Deputy for the Grand Encampment.

He joined the Garber Rebekah Lodge and transferred his membership to the Enid Rebekah Lodge #21 in 1986. Orville was the first male Noble Grand in the Enid Lodge. He was very active in all branches of the Order.

Survivors include three sons, Lloyd R. and wife LaDonna of Denison, TX, Ronald D. and wife Judy, Sisters, Oregon, Michael R. and wife Nancy of Rickrall, Oregon, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a sister Shirley Brabson, of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Merle and Riley.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
