Funeral for Herb D. Robinson Sr., 80-year-old Enid resident, will be 10 a.m. today, Feb. 1, 2013, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Chris Markes will officiate. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery.

Herb was born May 16, 1932, in Quinlan, Okla., to Lester and Pearl (Redd) Robinson and died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Clinton Veteran’s Hospital. Herb worked at Monroe Food Market before being drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War. He served in the Military Police, stationed in Bad Krueznach, Germany. After the service, he returned to Enid and continued in the grocery business at Monroe Food Market, the PX on Vance AFB, and Safeway.

On Dec. 1, 1954, he married Mari-An Smith in Miami, Okla. Herb owned and operated the Frisco Bar from 1974 until 1991. Herb was an avid fan of the Big Band Era.

Herb is survived by his children, Patti Bickerstaff and husband Larry of Guthrie, Okla., Herb Robinson Jr. of Enid, Lisa Cameron and husband Scott of Springfield, Mo., and Lori Grabher and husband Tony of Franklin, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jason Bannister and wife Alicia, Jeremiah Bickerstaff and wife Meggan, Joel Bickerstaff and wife Sara, Susan Lay, Amanda Goode and husband Chris, Dean Robinson and wife Kasiah, Luke Bickerstaff, Carey Haworth and husband Erik, Jeff Cameron and Erin Cameron; also numerous great-grandchildren and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mari-An; one stepson, Mike Lay; and daughter-in-law, Denise Robinson.
