PIONEER FARMER TAKER BY DEATH

Charles W. Pitts 80 years old, county pioneer farmer, died Monday morning aat his home, 718 South Grand. He was ill the last two years.

A native of Montana , he moved to Nebraska 51 years ago and came from there to Oklahoma at the opening of the Cherokee Strip. He settled on a farm near Enid where he lived until ten years ago when he retired and moved to Enid.

Surviving are his wife Anna of the home; three sons, Elmer and Clarence of the home, and Marvin of Enid; four daughters, Mrs. Dora Brown of Canton; Mrs. Lettie Madison of Missouri; Mrs. Elsie Wittengel of Kansas; and Mrs. Hazel Webb of the home. He leaves 11 grandchildren.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church. The body is in care of the Fossett-Schaeffer funeral home. Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery.
