Birth: Mar. 16, 1896 Death: Dec. 11, 1978

Ruth E. Moore, 82, 1808 E. Maine, a longtime Enid school instructor, died Monday morning in a local hospital.

She came to Enid high in 1937 and taught math there until her retirement in 1961. She had taught at Healdton and Bristow previously.

Miss Moore was born near Warsaw, Indiana, and moved to a farm south of Ringwood with her parents while still a child. The family later moved to Fairview where she graduated from high school. She received her bachelors degree from Oklahoma City University and a Masters degree from Colorado State at Greeley.

Miss Moore was a member of the Oklahoma and National Retired Teachers Association and the Altrurian Club.

Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to the First United Methodist Church, where she was a member and had taught the Parkinson Sunday school class for a time.

Miss Moore's survivors are a sister, Mrs. Floyd (Marguerite) Carlson of Enid and two nephews, Bill Carlson, Hobart and Norman Carlson, Titusville, Florida.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Wednesday in the Wesley Memorial Chapel of the First United Methodist with Dr. Irving L. Smith and the Rev. Orville Parham officiating. Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery.

The Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
