The funeral service for Garland Manning, 73, is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at First Missionary Baptist Church, with Dr. Edmond Rollins, pastor of Wannamaker Baptist Church, officiating. Burial follows in Enid Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends is 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Garland was born to Harold and Merle (Officer) Manning on Jan. 12, 1944, in Enid, and passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, in Enid. Garland started driving a truck at age 15. He was a self-employed truck driver, and also worked for Groendyke Transport, Kansas Construction, Penske Logistics, Atwoods and Walmart. In March 1964, Garland married Jacqueline L. Moye in Enid, and they were married for 52 years. He enjoyed landscaping, and always helping family and friends. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.

Garland is survived by his wife, Jaqueline L., of the home; four daughters: Carman Noble (Steven V.) of Oceanside, Calif., Grace Manning and Kayerine Manning, both of Enid, and Melanie Manning of Boston, Mass.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Austin and Delbert Austin, both of Enid, and Marion Austin of Chickasha.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, one sister and three brothers.
