Maye B. LAMB

Graveside services for Maye B. Lamb, 88, Enid, will be today, Tuesday, October 4, 2005 in the Enid cemetery next to her husband of 64 years. Reverend Kevin Choate will officiate. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Mrs. Lamb was born on April 30, 1917 in Hennessey, Oklahoma, the daughter of Albert S. and Mary Florence Yeomen Will, and died early Saturday morning, October 1, 2005 at Enid Senior Care Center. She lived in Hennessey until 1924 when her family moved to Enid where she was raised and educated, graduating from Enid High School. On January 21, 1938, she married Lynnville B. Lamb in Enid. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2001.

Mrs. Lamb worked for Ashfal Children's Clothing, Baby Duds, and Patio Garden Center. She was a longtime member of the Christian Union Chapel of Hennessey and after moving to Enid she attended Emmanuel Baptist Church and later became a member. Maye had many hobbies. Among them her love of gardening, sewing and quilting, and taking care of her grandchildren. She was also "Meme" to Julie and her children.

She is survived by two daughters, Janice Lynn Rea of Enid and Joyce Jackson of Enid; a brother, George F. Will of Amite, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Roy Spillman, Jr., Bradley T. Rea, Lyndsi Jackson Landwehr and Aaron Jackson; and one great-granddaughter Amanda K. Rea Hataway.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lamb was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Memorials may be made through the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be made to the family online at Brown-Cummings.Com
