ENID — Funeral service for Katie Jones, 75, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011, at Abundant Life Church with Rev. David Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery under the direction of Anderson - Burris Funeral Home.

Katie was born March 24, 1936, in Sylvania, Ga., to James and Lythia (Hagins) Harrison and died Monday, June 6, 2011, in Enid, Okla.

She grew up in Georgia and attended Robin Branch Baptist Church, where she accepted Christ as a young child.

Katie graduated from Central High School and then became a LVN.

On June 7, 1954, she married Edward Roberts in Sylvania, Ga. He died in 1965 and Katie moved to California in 1966.

She earned her RN degree and worked as an OB-GYN nurse and later in the ER. Katie moved to Enid in 2006 with her extended sister, Pearl Gordon. She was a member of Abundant Life Church.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her children, James Roberts and Vickie Roberts, both of California, Hagerty Roberts of Enid and Gregory Roberts of Florida; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Hagins of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Minnie Black of Atlanta, Carrie McIntosh of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Pearl Gordon of Enid.

Memorials may be made to Abundant Life Church.
