The funeral for Sheila Melinda Johnston, 59 year-old Enid resident, will be 1:00PM Saturday, February 23, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Andrew Long officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. There will be a reception at the church before the service from 11:30 to 12:30 with the family.

Sheila was born March 25, 1953 in Enid to Albert and Vernell (Warren) Clarke and died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She attended Enid Schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1971. She then attended Northwestern State University, graduating in 1977. Sheila then obtained her Nursing Degree from Tonkawa in 1983 where she was President of her nursing class.

On August 14, 1976, she married her high school sweetheart, James “Buck” Johnston in the First Presbyterian Church of Enid. Sheila began working at Norce in 1977, retiring in 2010 as Assistant Resource Director. She was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church. The most important thing to her was her family, which was her whole world. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling with her family. She was also an avid Thunder Basketball fan.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Buck, of the home; son, Willis Clarke Johnston of Las Vegas, Nevada, and New York, New York; daughter, Elizabeth May Johnston of Mesa, Arizona; sister, Connie Mornhinveg of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; niece, Stacey Wall and nephew, Craig Scardina as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Elvie Warren and brother, Craig Clarke.
