Enid Cemetery


The funeral for Ulysses Huey, 85, will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Alfred Baldwin Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home, Enid.

He was born March 27, 1921, in Timpson, Texas, to Phillip and Ida White Huey and died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, in Oklahoma City.

He attended school in Gibson Station School District #1 in Wagoner. In 1939, he moved to Enid. He was employed by the Champlin family in many capacities. After leaving the Champlins he was an independent landscaper. He worked until Jan. 6, 2007, when he sustained an injury.

Surviving are his companion, Olivettea Mitchell; two daughters, RaShonda and Melvonnda, both of Tulsa; one brother; one sister; and one grandson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to DeVont’e D’Wayn Hue’ Gordon Scholarship Fund.
