Memorial service for Jane A. Mayberry Ferchau is 10 a.m. today, Sept. 7, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, Stillwater, Okla. Rev. Michael Chaffin will officiate. Graveside service is 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, in Enid Cemetery. Rev. Don Johnson will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Jane A. Mayberry Ferchau, loving mother, grandmother and friend to all, passed away Aug. 25, 2013, at the age of 81. On March 25, 1932, Janie was born to Edward and Edith Mayberry in Enid, Okla. She graduated from Enid High School in 1950, and went on to attend William Woods University in Fulton, Mo.

Janie was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother, S.N. Mayberry. Janie married Jack Ferchau in Enid in 1951. They moved to California, then to Norman, Okla., and several small oil field towns of Texas before returning to Enid to raise their family.

In June 1968, Janie opened the first privately owned Lynn's Hallmark Card Shop in the United States in Enid, and two additional stores in Ponca City and Oklahoma City. She retired in 2003, to spend time with her family and friends.

Janie is survived by her son, Mark Ferchau, daughter-in-law, Lisa, and grandchildren, Alex and Matthew Ferchau of Houston, Texas; daughter, Betsy Ferchau Avery, son-in-law, Greg and grandchildren, Brooke and James Avery of Stillwater, Okla., and her dear and close friend, Jack Ferchau of Stillwater.
