The funeral for Ralph Eugene Eddington, 82, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 2, 1925, in Asher to Marion Paul and Hannah Virginia Childers Eddington and died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

He grew up and at-tended school in Chickasha. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a seaman 1st class. He fought in five major battles.

He married Lenora McFarland in 1946. They made their home in Enid. He later married Dorothy Clover Aug. 15, 1970. They made their home in Enid. He worked for Champlin Oil Refinery for 37 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Enid Coin Club and Enid Men’s Bowling Association for 30 years. He coached baseball in Police Athletic League for 17 years.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, of the home; three children, David Paul Eddington, Sherry E. Summers and Ginger Gober, all of Enid; three stepchildren, Jack Clover of Carmen, Connie Woolman of Nacoma, Texas, and Wanda Dempewolf of Blanchard; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one stepson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Cal Farley Boys Ranch or Enid Salvation Army.
