Funeral for Susan A. Duncan, 59, of Overland Park, Kan., will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Parsons. The Revs. Jan Chubb and Sharon Billman will officiate. A graveside service will be 4 p.m. in Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are by Carson-Wall Funeral Home, Parsons. Family visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born July 11, 1948, in Enid to Harold and Lorraine Duncan and died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at her home.

She grew up and attended school in Enid and graduated from St. Joseph High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Phillips University. She taught briefly in western Kansas before moving to Oswego, Kan., and then to Parsons. She taught English and library science at Cherryvale and St. Paul, Kan., and at Cherokee until she retired in 2004. She moved to Overland Park in 2006. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Parsons, and most recently St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church in Overland Park. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi.

Surviving are one daughter, Julie Piroutek of Kansas City, Mo.; one son, Joshua Leet of Overland Park; three brothers, Phillip Duncan of Enid and David and Danny Flaming, both of Edmond; two sisters, Nancy Flaming of Enid and Beth Schurle of Neodesha, Kan.; and one grandson.

She was preceded in death by one brother.
