ENID — Graveside service for Sophrona Draffin, 89, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2011, in Enid Cemetery with the Rev. James Lichtenberger officiating. Arrange-ments are by Anderson - Burris Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be 5:30-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born March 4, 1922, to Gilbert and Florence (Caufield) James in Lindsay, Okla., and died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, in Enid.

Sophrona grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School.

On June 27, 1945, she married Luke Draffin in Thomasville, Ga.

They lived in several places with Luke's career in the United States Air Force. In 1964 they moved to Enid, where she was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sophrona was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by three children, Caroline S. Grimes of Enid, Diana Gulbrandsen and Gary of Portland, Texas, and Luke L. Draffin and Rhonda of Enid; 11 grandchildren, Billy Grimes, Mike Grimes, Cozette Snyder, John Peterson, Nick Peterson, Tom Gulbrandsen, Cassie Draffin, Luke Draffin, John Draffin, Phillip Draffin and Amanda Fortney; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Sophrona was preceded in death by her husband, Luke; daughter, Sharon K. Peterson; two son-in-laws Bill Grimes and John C. Peterson; two brothers; and four sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to OMRF, diabetes division.
