DEATH CLAIMS UNION VETERAN OF CIVIL WAR

Albert DeWolfe recalled seeing Lee Surender to Grant

Albert DeWOLFE was born November 22, 1842 at Batavia, New York and on Dec. 22, 1863 enlisted in the 8th New York Infantry, a part of of the second army corps in the Civil War. He often refered to the time when he saw General Lee surrender to General U. S. Grant.

The body was removed to Henninger-Allen funeral home where details were pending for services to be held in the home Thursday with Rev. Dan Luther Edwards of the Presbyterian Church in charge. Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery.
Surviving are, his widow, of the home, a brother Henry DeWolfe; and a sister, Mrs. Helen Sprague, both of Batavia, NY, two nieces, of New York, one nephew of Iowa.
