VETERAN ENID PIONEER DIES AT AGE 82, Dangerfield was long identified with Enid civic affairs.
C. H. Dangerfield, 82 one of Enid's oldest pioneer was taken by death after an illness of about six weeks.

Mr. Dangerfield was born in Stroud, County of Gloucestershire, England. At the age of 16 he came to the United States, landing in New York. He settled in Ohio and a short time later went to Illinois and then on to Wichita, Kan. While in Wichita he married.

At the opening of the Cherokee Strip Mr. Dangerfield came to Enid and bought two lots on East Randolph. He owned and operated a restaurant there until 1903 when he sold and moved to his present home at 201 East Pine. From 1900 to 1910 he he was the County Assessor.

Mr. Dangerfield was a active member of the Elks Lodge, the Woodsman of the World, and the Episcopal church of this city from the time of its establishment.

Mr. Dangerfield is survived by his wife of the home, one son Ralph, A daughter, Mrs. Elwood Hunt of Okla. City; a sister Helen Weaver of England; two brothers, Sam Dangerfield of St. Louis, Mo.; Richard Dangerfield of Colorado; and three grand children, Patricia Ann Hunt, Richard Charles Dangerfield and Jean Elizabeth Dangerfield.

Funeral services will be 2 o'clock tomorrow.
