August 24, 1910

Submitted by: Lois Burdick

A Pioneer Resident of Enid surcumbs after a long illness.
The grim reaper claimed another of Enid's pioneer citizens last night when James W, Clevenger, once probate judge of this county died. Death had hovered near for several days and his life was despared of yesterday. With Mr. Clevengers death Enid loses one of its oldest and most esteemed citizens.
Mr. Clevenger came here in a early day and by his sterling qualities earned himself a wide reputation as lawyer. For the last few years he has been retired from active practice, having been in bad health. He died at 7 o'clock last night.

Funeral seervices will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock at the residence. Internment will take place at the Enid Cemetery.

The service will be under the Masonic auspices , but the Grand Army veterans will participate as will the Ladies of the Grand Army.
