James L. Buffalo

The funeral service for James L. Buffalo, 65, of Enid will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2005 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Paul Hass will officiate. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

James was born April 1, 1940 in Livingston, TX to William Taft and Lillie Mae Bond Buffalo and passed away September 21, 2005 at Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid.

He served in the US Army from June 1957 to June 1963. He was decorated as a carbine sharpshooter and rifle marksman. He married Janie Poplin Davis on March 21, 1994 in Pasadena, TX. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife Janie Poplin Davis-Buffalo and their daughter Harlie Darien Davis-Buffalo of the home; his mother Lille Mae Buffalo of Deer Park, TX; his children, Cynthia Douglas and Kim Buffalo both of Seattle, Amanda Bush and James Buffalo, Jr. both of Deer Park, TX; brothers, Cecil, Lyn, and Glen Buffalo all of Deer Park, TX; his twin brother John Buffalo of Henry, Tenn., Roger Buffalo of Pasadena, TX, and Garland Buffalo of Broddus, TX; sisters, Sally Buffalo and Betty Ann Epperson of Deer Park, TX, Rose Van Winkle of Beverly Hills, CA, and Kay Menski of Manteno, Illinois; and numerous grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father William Taft Buffalo and his brother William Taft, Jr.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran School or the Harlie Davis-Buffalo Education Fund with Henninger-Allen serving as custodian to the funds.
