Funeral service for Mr. Clinton "Clint" T. Blasdel, 74, of Enid, will be 3 p.m. today, March 16, 2012, at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Whitley Officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery. Service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Clint was born to Mr. Heber Mikel Blasdel and Mrs. Hattie Buffington Blasdel on June 8, 1937, in Garber and passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at his home with his family and his companion smokie Joe at his side. He moved to Bokoshe, Okla., in 1955 with his family were he attended school.

He married his bride of 53 years, Norma Stanley, on May 27, 1958, in Sulpher, Okla. The couple moved to Enid shortly after, where they made their home. At age 16, he started driving Semi's. He bought his first truck in 1966. He owned and operated Blasdel Trucking Co. and Blasdel Dozer service. In 1985, he started traveling together with his family putting in fiber optic cable all over the United States. He enjoyed being a modern day cowboy, riding in many trail and cattle drives. He also had a passion for the outdoors whether he was gardening, hunting, fishing, raising horses and goats or competing in fast draw competitions. He was a member of Pioneer Gun Slingers, Moose Lodge and Enid Cherokee Strip Round Up Club.

He is survived by wife, Norma of the home; two daughters, Colleen "Blasdel" Kennington and husband Tom of Ringwood, and Charlene "Blasdel" Satterley and husband Mark of Enid; grandchildren, Misty "Randy," Christy "Mike," Stephen "Samantha," Jennifer "Curt" and Josh; great-grandchildren, Hope, Madison, Kyle, Alecia, Caleb, Mason, Gabriella and Alex; brother, Robert and wife Thelma of Alma, Ark.; and sister, Carolyn Cecil of Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clint and Nettie Blasdel who helped raise him, and John and Maggie Buffington; his parents; brother and one sister.
