Vena E. Arvin, 76, 810 W. State, died Sunday morning in a local nursing home following a short illness.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday in the Brown Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery.

Mrs. Arvin was born January 28, 1909, in Homestead, the daughter of John in Mary Arndt. As a child, she moved with her family to Enid where she attended school and graduated from Enid High School in 1928.

In 1953, she and F. L. (Bunny) Arvin were married in Wellington, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1970.

Mrs. Arvin worked in various stores as salesclerk and at J. C. Penneys for 10 years before retirement in 1975.

She was a member of the Willow View Methodist Church and of the Ladies Retired Golden Rule Club.

Mrs. Arvin is survived by two nephews and a niece, Gary Arendt of Enid, and Gary Arendt of Placentia, California, and Carol Randle of Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by a brother Harold in 1981.
