Miriam “Virginia” Allen was born February 19, 1929, in Enid, OK, and was adopted on February 22, 1929, by George and Hazel Wampler of Enid, OK. She passed away November 2, 2013, in Spiro, OK.

Virginia grew up in Enid, OK, and graduated from Enid High School in 1947.

She married Floyd D. Allen in June 1947, and they have been married for 66 years.

She was a member of Central Christian Church in Enid, where she sang in the church choir until they moved in 1962. Floyd and Virginia have resided in Spiro since 1969, and together they have owned and operated their family business, Allen Rathole Services Inc. for 26 years. She attended the United Methodist Church in Spiro for many years. Her hobbies included bowling, playing bridge, horses, yard work and being involved in community service activities.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Floyd D. Allen of Spiro, OK; two sons, Mark D. Allen and his wife Nikki of Spiro, OK, and Floyd S. Allen and his wife Judy, of Wilburton, OK; one grandson, Tracy Allen and his wife Laci of Wilburton, OK; one granddaughter, Kristy Melton and her husband Haskell of McAlester, OK; and three great-grandchildren, Lexi and Tristyn Allen and Kynli Jones.

Virginia was preceded in death by her son, Leon G. Allen, and her parents, George and Hazel Wampler.

Funeral will be 6 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2013, at Victory Worship Center in Spiro, OK, under direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

The family will visit with friends following the service at the church.

Funeral in Enid will be 2 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2013, in Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery.
