Douglas Union Cemetery



The funeral for Kathryn LeeOna McGill, 98, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Randall Hackworth will officiate. Burial will be in Douglas Cemetery, Douglas.

LeeOna was born July 26, 1908, in Union City to Nicholas and Mae (McMahan) Kramer and died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, in Enid.

At age three, she moved with her family to Douglas where she attended and graduated from high school. After attending Phillips University and Central State Teachers College, she taught school at College Corner Rural School and the State Orphans Home at Pryor.

She was married to Clyde Stuart in Tulsa in 1934. They lived in Greenwich, Kan., and Hoisington, Kan., where Mr. Stuart was in oil field welding and manufacturing business. She was preceded in death by Mr. Stuart in 1949 in an airplane crash while on a fishing trip in Minnesota.

She later married Frank R. McGill of Hoisington, Kan. They moved to Douglas in 1957, where they made their home until the death of Mr. McGill in 1985. She later moved to Enid to be near her daughter and family.

Mrs. McGill was a member of Christian Union Church in Douglas and attended First Church of God while living in Enid. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and received her 50-year pin in 1995. She also was a past Mother Advisor of the Rainbow for Girls. She also volunteered at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

Surviving her are her daughter, Chris Roberts and her husband Bob; granddaughter Megan Culbertson and husband Steve, and great-grandson Jakob Culbertson, all of Enid; her grandson Ben Roberts and wife Jill and great-grandsons Cody and Taylor of Gillette, Wyo.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Gertrude Gilbert and Alyce Fortney and two brothers, Clifford Kramer and James Kramer.
