Douglas Union Cemetery


Max Konz, 65, 1502 E. Pine, died Wednesday afternoon in a local hospital after entering the hospital several hours earlier. Funeral services will be at 2 PM today in the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with the Rev. Charles Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Douglas Cemetery in Douglas.

Konz was born February 6, 1906 in Weimar, Texas, married the former Cleta Mae Cook in 1943, and came to Enid in 1960. He has lived in and operated restaurants at Medford, Pond Creek and Enid. For the past five years he has been employed at Hartman Floral Company. He worked at Vance Air Force Base until he retired. Konz served with the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War I I.

He was a member of the American Legion, and the Davis Park Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles.

Survivors include his wife, Cleta, of the home; two sons, Max Jr., San Antonio, Texas, and Kenneth, Cleveland, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Pebeler, Albuquerque, New Mexico; his mother, Mrs. Augusta Schawe, Albuquerque, New Mexico, a brother, Owen Konz, Moriarty, New Mexico, and three grandchildren.
