Obituary
Jacob Travis was born in Colon, Mich., March 7th, 1844, and died March 10th, 1916. He lived in Michigan until about 25 years of age and then moved to Kansas where he spent about twenty-five years and moved to Oklahoma about one year after the opening, being among the pioneer citizens of this community.
He is survived by a wife and five children, Mrs. Edna Munkres, Mrs. Nellie Goodhue, Mrs. Grace Stonehocker, all who reside in this county; Mrs. Nina Lyle in Lamar, Colo., and James who is at home.
Funeral services were held at Del Norte Saturday afternoon, Rev. J.A. Smith of Breckenridge having charge. Mr. Travis was well and favorably known and the services were largely attended.
