Obituary
John Sanders Rundle, son of Ruben B. Rundle and Elizabeth Rundle, was born in Bureau Co., Ill., January 6, 1856, and departed this life January 7, 1933, at the age of 77 years, 1 hour and 35 minutes. He moved to Washington co., Iowa, with his parents when a small child. There he grew to manhood and was married to Mary E. Trusler, October 28, 1878. They then moved to Kansas, and after living in various parts of that state, he and his family moved to Oklahoma in the spring of 1898. He located on a homestead and lived there for 38 years. He was converted when a young many in Mitchell co., Kans., uniting with the United Brethren church of which he remained a member. Their home not being blessed with children of their own, they took two children, Harry S. Rundle and Mrs. A.M. Dunlap. They cared for them with the tenderest love that any father and mother could. His first though was for his family, doing all he could with no complaining when he knew his load of care was heavy. He met his friends with the glad hand, looking on life for the bright places. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, and then four years last October, their friends joined with them in celebrating their golden anniversary. He leaves to mourn a widow of the home, a son Harry S. Rundle, a daughter, Mrs. Alva Dunlap, both of Enid, two sisters Mrs. Belle Andrews, St. Joseph, Mo.; Laura of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother A.W. Rundle of Astel, Kans.; grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends. Rev. Joe Keith of Dacoma conducted the service and interment was in the Del Norte cemetery.
