Funeral Services for Mrs. W.R. Pierson
The entire community was greatly grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. W.R. Pierson, one of Drummond's pioneer citizens, which occurred at the home of her daughter in Wichita on Wednesday, October 26th. Although she had not been well for many years, she had been able to attend to her household duties and few realized the extent of her suffering owing to bright and cheery disposition. Since she was stricken two weeks ago, there was practically no hope for her recovery.
The grief stricken husband, two sons, Will and Roy of Drummond, and two daughters, Mrs. Lois Murr of Wichita, and Mrs. Lula Cook of Kansas City, were at the bedside when the summons came.
Mr. and Mrs. Pierson took a homestead adjoining town at the opening, where they made their home until less than a year ago when they moved to their home in Enid. Their interests here demanded that they still spent much of their time among us.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Wednesday afternoon and interment at Del Norte Cemetery. The church was filled to overflowing with those who wished to show their respect for one who had been such a loyal wife, a devoted mother and good neighbor and the family, the church, and the community will greatly miss her, but her noble life will still live on.
