Obituary for Ernest Lee "E L" Payton

Graveside memorial service for Ernest Payton, 79, of Drummond, will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday June 12, 2019 in Del Norte Cemetery, Drummond. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Ernest was born November 12, 1939 in Lahoma to William and Bonnie Payton, and passed away on May 28, 2019, in Enid.

He grew up on the family farm near Lahoma. Ernest served in the United States Army in Korea and following his discharge he moved back to Lahoma. He worked as a truck driver, and then he worked for many years for John Cromwell. Ernest loved to spend time with his dogs.

Ernest is survived by his cousins David and Barbara Friend of Lahoma; several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Johnny, and his sister Crystal.
