DRUMMOND - Kenneth Luin Marney was born Jan. 15, 1919, to Sylvan L and Loretta Bell Dale Marney on the farm his grandfather staked in the run southwest of Drummond, Okla., and passed away at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at home on the farm, where he was raised.

He was a farmer and rancher all of his life. Working at the Drummond Elevator part-time, also the pipe line. He attended the Wildwood County School.

Kenneth loved to travel and upon his retirement he and his wife Erma went to Port Isabel, Texas. He loved to fish and garden, taking great pride in his cantaloupe and watermelons.

On Nov. 12, 1938, he married Erma Laverne Hager, who was the love of his life and the most beautiful girl in Enid, Okla. They enjoyed 71 years of marriage. He said he must have been smitten the first time they met.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Viola Van Meter.

Surviving are his wife, Erma, of the home; and four children, Danny and wife Betty of Hennessey, Okla., Gary and wife Lora of Dumas, Texas, Kenny and wife Kathy of Enid, Okla., and daughter, Nikki Marney of Enid, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, at United Church of Christ, Drummond, Okla. Rev. Bud Ruggia, Rev. Gordon Epps and Rev. Danny Marney will officiate. Burial will be in Del Norte Cemetery , Drummond, Okla. Arrange-ments are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to United Church of Christ of Drummond with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

A Celebration of Life for Erma Laverne Marney, age 96 years, Enid, is 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at United Puritan Church of Christ with the Rev. Matt Perkins and Pastor Gordon Epps both officiating. Burial follows in Del Norte Cemetery, Drummond. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Erma was born August 29, 1920 in Hennessey to Joseph and Mabel (Hannon) Hager, and passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 in Enid. She was a dedicated farmer's wife, mother and housewife. She helped Kenneth with the farm work, driving the tractor, milking the cows, and anything that she needed to do to help, as well as raising four children. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Erma was a member of Barr's Busy Bee's and taught the adult Sunday school class at what was then the Puritan Congregational Church in Drummond.

After Kenneth's retirement, they loved to travel and spent winters in Port Isabel, Texas. She loved to read, loved growing beautiful flowers, and especially balloons. Erma is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mabel, her husband Kenneth Marney; son Danny Joe Marney; four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by three children; Gary Marney and wife Lora, of Dumas, Texas; Kenny Marney and wife Kathy, of Enid; Nikki Marney of Enid; two brothers, Jerry John Hager and wife Marsha, of Enid; Mike Hager and wife Donna, of Enid; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Memorials in Erma's name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
