Funeral services for Rex R. Malicote, 78, who died Monday afternoon in a Kingfisher hospital following an extended illness, will be at 2 PM Thursday in the Oak Street Baptist Church in Kingfisher. Rev. L. B. Flanigan will officiate.

Burial will follow in the family plot in the Del Norte Cemetery at Drummond under the direction of the Henninger – Allen Funeral home.

Malicote, a native of Indiana, came to Oklahoma as a child with his parents soon after the opening of the Cherokee Strip, settling first in the Drummond community.

He and Edith Light were married at Drummond in 1913 and she preceded him in death December 3, 1968.

The family moved to the Kingfisher community about 1920, farming in that area until retiring a few years ago and moving to Kingfisher.

Malicote was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by four nieces and three nephews, including Charles Malicote and Miss Katie Light, both of Enid.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM today in the Henninger – Allen Chapel for Mrs. Edith Malicote, Dr. Robert J. Smith will officiate at the services with burial to follow in the Del Norte Cemetery under the direction of Henninger – Allen.

Mrs. Malicote was born October 5, 1893 at Ft. Reno, West of East Reno. She was reared and attended schools in the Drummond community. Mrs. Malicote married Rex Malicote in Drummond in 1913 and they came to Kingfisher in 1919 where she has lived since. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her husband of the home; two sisters, Miss Katie Light and Mrs. Ruth Gregg both of Enid; two nieces, Naomi Vaughn, Drummond and Dorothy Heimroth, Indianapolis, Indiana; and one nephew, Charles Light, Hollywood, California.
