DEATH OF A.B. LIGHT

A.B. Light of Drummond died in this city at 12:30 as he was being taken to the depot in a cab. With him at the time of his death were his wife and brother-in-law, Arch McEwen, of this city. Mr. Light has been in Enid for the past three months for treatment. His condition has been precarious for some time but death at this time was unexpected. The immediate cause of his death was heart failure. He had rallied for the past week and while confined to his bed the greater part of the time, has been up for a few days.

Mr. Light is survived by his widow and seven children, all of whom live at their place three miles south of Drummond. In the family are besides the widow, four girls, Pearl, Edith, Ruth and Katie, and three boys, Willie, Charlie, and Harold.

Mr. Light is an old settler in the Cherokee Strip. He was born at Paola, Kan., December 24, 1867, and in 1891 came to El Reno, Okla. when the Cherokee Strip was opened he located on the northwest quarter of section 34, Sheridan township and since that time has made his home there. He was well known throughout this section of the state and was looked up on as one of the most successful farmers in Garfield county.

Besides his wife and children, he is survived by two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Ida Williaford, of Paolo, Kan.; Mrs. Katie Sharron of Kansas City, Mo.; William Light of the Indian school service at Hayward, Wisc., and A.E. Light of Fairbanks, Alaska.
